BID
an official invitation to join our sorority. You have the option to accept or reject this invitation.
GIM
a general interest meeting allows us to briefly introduce our organization to interested potential new members. To be eligible for a bid, you must attend at least one during rush week.
Philanthropy
organization or cause for which a sorority does community service. Sigma Psi Zeta combats violence of all forms against womxn.
Recruitment Week
the time for you meet our members and learn more about our organization as a whole. All events are non-binding and free of charge! Check out our current recruitment schedule for more information!

RECRUITMENT SCHEDULE
WHAT SETS SIGMA PSI ZETA APART FROM OTHERS?
As a multicultural, progressive Greek organization, we strive to promote and develop ourselves as strong and independent womxn. We strive to affirm the intersectional identities of all of our members here at Alpha Mu. Sigma Psi Zeta is also proud to 10 fundamental rays that make up the basis of our sorority. These 10 rays are values that all members wish to best exemplify. They are Legacy, Integrity, Scholarship, Philanthropy, Professionalism, Community, Culture, Sisterhood, Citizenship, and Activism.
DOES SIGMA PSI ZETA HAZE?
HAZING: Hazing constitutes violence and to do so would directly contradict with our philanthropy, which is to combat violence of all forms against womxn. Furthermore, as an organization, Sigma Psi Zeta strives to build its members up, not degrade them. Our organization has a zero tolerance no-hazing policy, and we take pride in the fact that the Alpha Mu Charter has had ZERO hazing policy violations.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BECOME A "SYZTER?"
INCLUSIVITY: Sigma Psi Zeta strives to become an inclusive organization that welcomes ALL womxn regardless of ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender identity (transgender, nonbinary, etc) or any other identities held. You will not be denied for holding minority identities listed in the previous statement.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR A BID?
MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS: It is important to remember that you are a student first before anything else. To become an active member of the Alpha Mu Charter of Sigma Psi Zeta you must be enrolled as a student at the University of Kansas and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.7 before, during, and after the process. Unfortunately, those who are already affiliated with another social sorority will NOT be eligible to join.
During recruitment week, you must attend one GIM and two other events to receive a bid.
DO YOU HAVE A "BROTHER" FRATERNITY?
Sigma Psi Zeta, Sorority Inc. holds no affiliation with any fraternity both on the local and National levels. We are strong, independent womxn.
