Domestic violence is a worldwide issue. According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, “1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have been victims of physical violence by an intimate partner within their lifetime”. We must take action against the gender-based violence that is facilitated and perpetuated by our society. It is imperative that we create a safe place not only for us, but also for womxn in the future. Only through recognizing the problem and acting on it can we begin to address this urgent issue.
